Vishay launches vPolyTan™ DLA 04051 capacitors for defense and aerospace applications.
High-precision motion control with Bogen Magnetics’ miniaturized sensors
Vishay introduces the new DLA 04051 series: DLA-approved polymer capacitors for defense and aerospace applications.
At RC Microelectrónica, official distributor of Vishay Intertechnology in Spain and Portugal, we present the new DLA 04051 series of vPolyTan™ polymer capacitors, approved by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). A solution specifically developed for mission-critical environments in the military, aerospace, and defense (AMS) sectors.
vPolyTan™ capacitors: reliability at the highest level
The new DLA 04051 SMD capacitors stand out for combining ultra-low ESR (down to 25 mΩ) with outstanding thermal and electrical stability, even under extreme vibration or temperature conditions. The capacitance range spans from 4.7 µF to 680 µF, with rated voltages from 2.5 V to 63 V, and they maintain performance from –55 °C to +125 °C without degradation or wear-out effects.
Each component has been validated through 2000 hours of testing at 125 °C, meeting the DLA 04051 standard and exceeding MIL-STD-202-204D vibration requirements (level D) and MIL-STD-202-107 thermal shock standards. Additionally, they offer impact resistance up to 500 g and superior mechanical robustness compared to traditional tantalum capacitors.
Key applications and advantages
These new devices offer tangible advantages:
- Superior performance compared to conventional tantalum capacitors, with minimal losses thanks to its low ESR.
- Greater long-term reliability and electrical stability, with no aging effect.
- DLA certification, an essential requirement for defense and aerospace projects.
- Direct second source for Yageo / Kemet references, ensuring compatibility and supply continuity.
In applications where reliability allows no margin for error, this series stands out as one of the most robust options on the market.
