IEH HBH modular connectors: power and signal in a single housing

High-precision motion control with Bogen Magnetics’ miniaturized sensors

Real flexibility for demanding electronic designs

In many advanced electronic systems, bringing power and signal together in very tight spaces forces design choices that can affect overall system performance. Adding more connectors also means more wiring, more potential failure points, and sometimes redesigns that delay project validation. In sectors such as aerospace, defense, rail, or industrial instrumentation, these constraints can directly impact the robustness of the equipment.

In this context, IEH’s HBH series offers a robust alternative. It’s a modular connector capable of combining power and signal contacts within a single housing, adapting to the specific needs of each design without compromising density or reliability.

A single connector, thousands of possible configurations

The HBH series provides a modular platform that adapts to your design—not the other way around. It allows you to choose contact sizes from .016” to .169”, combine them freely, and build configurations tailored to each electronic architecture without resorting to custom developments, which is especially valuable when a project demands specific geometries or tight space constraints. All contacts use IEH’s hyperbolic technology, ensuring very low resistance, reduced insertion force, and stable performance even in environments with vibration or repeated mating cycles, preserving signal and power integrity throughout the equipment’s lifetime.

This flexibility is reinforced by high power density and a wide range of termination options, including straight PCB, right‑angle PCB, crimp, solder‑cup, and compliant pins, along with the option to incorporate a blind‑mate version to accommodate misalignment. All of this streamlines integration in complex systems and in applications where reliability leaves no room for error.

HBH series in real‑world projects

The versatility of the HBH makes it an especially strong choice for systems that combine control electronics and power in very tight spaces. It’s also commonly used in aerospace modules, railway embedded systems, and defense equipment. You’ll find it as well in advanced industrial instrumentation or in any architecture where vibration resistance and signal integrity are critical.

On the other hand, its ability to bring multiple functions together in a single housing streamlines the design. This reduces potential failure points and makes integration easier in systems where every millimetre and every connection matters.
