SCHURTER introduces its new EDC Switch (Electronic Direct Current), designed to provide reliable DC switching even in the most demanding environments. This switch combines the mechanical precision of a micro switch with integrated power electronics, achieving completely arc-free switching and eliminating one of the major risks of DC switching.

Key features

The new Schurter EDC Switch features an intelligent architecture that detects the start of disconnection and cuts the current in a controlled manner before any electrical arc occurs. This protects both the system and the surroundings, preventing contact damage and potential electromagnetic interference.

  • Total arc protection: thanks to its integrated electronics, the contacts do not experience erosion, eliminating the risk of sparks.
  • Long service life: supports over one million switching cycles, reducing maintenance and replacement costs.
  • Compact design: its small size allows integration into limited spaces, ideal for embedded systems or control panels with space constraints.
  • Rated current: 10 A at 48 VDC, suitable for medium-power DC applications.
  • Reliability and efficiency: ideal for DC-powered systems with batteries or energy backup.

Two versions available

EDC 01: designed for SCHURTER’s MSM II switch.

EDC 02: standalone version compatible with universal actuators.
