The demand for compact, accurate, and robust thermal sensors continues to grow across industrial electronics, measurement equipment, distributed sensing systems, and consumer devices. High thermal precision in an ultra‑compact package
Vishay’s NTC thermistor combines a 100 kΩ resistance value at 25 °C with a B25/85 beta coefficient of 4311 K, delivering very high thermal sensitivity even with minimal temperature changes. This level of precision is further supported by tight tolerances of up to ±1% for both R25 and B25/85, ensuring stable thermal control in applications where accuracy is critical.
The 0402 package, measuring just 1 × 0.5 × 0.5 mm, is fully coated in glass, providing superior protection against humidity, chemicals, thermal shock, and mechanical stress. This construction enhances long‑term reliability and makes it suitable for equipment exposed to continuous thermal cycling or demanding environmental conditions. The device also withstands more than 25 kV ESD under the HBM model, adding an extra layer of robustness against electrostatic discharge.
Vishay’s new NTC thermistor operates from –55 °C to +150 °C, delivers a maximum dissipation of 70 mW, and features a typical thermal time constant of 5 s, enabling a fast and stable response in control systems. Its SMD construction with NiSn terminations supports both wave and reflow soldering, and its standard footprint allows for drop‑in replacement of equivalent components without requiring PCB redesign.
