The VLMRGB1500 integrates three LED chips (red, pure green, and blue) based on next‑generation AlInGaP and InGaN technologies. Each chip features independent control thanks to its common‑anode, separate‑cathode configuration, allowing precise adjustment of each color’s intensity and enabling the generation of any tone within the CIE 1931 color space triangle.
Its 0404 package (1.0 mm × 1.0 mm × 0.65 mm) reduces size by 70% compared to a PLCC‑4, making integration easier in compact equipment and applications where space is critical. In addition, the device is binned by reel for luminous intensity and color, ensuring production uniformity.
In terms of performance, the VLMRGB1500 delivers: luminous intensity up to 252 mcd at 5 mA (pure green), a ±60° viewing angle, forward voltage of 1.5–2.15 V (red) and 2–3.2 V (green/blue), ESD resistance of 2 kV for red and 1 kV for green and blue, full IR‑reflow compatibility, and high reliability across a –40 °C to +85 °C operating range.
The device is fully compatible with equivalent RGB LEDs on the market, allowing direct drop‑in replacement without modifying the PCB or the control circuitry.
