RST® waterproof connectors: plug-in electrical installations with IP66/68/69 protection for demanding environments
High-precision motion control with Bogen Magnetics’ miniaturized sensors
Optimize your industrial connections with the range of pre-wired, waterproof RST® connectors.
In the design of industrial plants, outdoor lighting infrastructure, or HVAC systems, engineers face a major challenge. Specifically, they must ensure safe electrical connections in confined spaces and under critical environmental conditions. On the one hand, temperature fluctuations generate condensation. Likewise, dust accumulation and high-pressure water jets can compromise system continuity. Unfortunately, addressing these issues with traditional screw-based methods increases assembly times. As a result, wiring defects often occur, raising maintenance costs.
Technical specifications
The RST® waterproof connector series provides a complete plug & play solution. It uses pre-wired and factory-tested components. In addition, its mechanical and color coding system (with more than 20 variants) completely eliminates connection errors.
Furthermore, this range stands out for its robustness and continuous electrical reliability. It is certified with IP65, IP66, IP67, and IP68 protection ratings (tested at 3 meters for 2 hours). It also meets IP69 standards, with resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water and chemical exposure.
It also offers IK07 impact resistance. This is complemented by an advanced longitudinal sealing system, where each contact includes its own seal to prevent capillary water ingress in case of cable damage.
The system components include:
- Pre-assembled cables: options with free ends or interconnection cables for maximum flexibility.
- Inline connectors: versions from 2 to 7 poles, 250V/400V, and current ratings from 8 A to 50 A.
- Panel-mount connectors: ranging from standard one-piece designs to modular versions.
- Distribution blocks: pre-wired distributors for branched power and signal transmission.
The range is divided into four specific series depending on project requirements:
- RST®MICRO: 2- and 3-pole models, 250V/400V, up to 8A, certified under IEC 61984 and VDE. Ideal for LED luminaires, signalling, and network applications.
- RST®MINI: 2- to 5-pole versions, 250V/400V, up to 16A, certified to IEC 61535, VDE, and cULus standards.
- RST® CLASSIC: the most complete range, from 2 to 7 poles, 250V/600V, for 20–32A loads, with VDE, cULus, and IEC 61535 approvals.
- RST® POWER: designed for large conductor cross-sections, 4- and 5-pole versions, 250V/400V, up to 50A, certified to IEC 61984 and VDE standards.
Applications and benefits
The versatility of RST® connectors enables effective deployment in highly demanding sectors such as greenhouses, tunnels, signage and lighting, shipbuilding, wind power, photovoltaics, combustion systems, transportation, elevators, and escalators. The main benefit lies in time and cost savings: the plug-in principle reduces installation time by up to 70% and lowers total costs by 30%. As efficient, robust, and reusable solutions, they also enable fast disassembly, minimizing downtime during expansion, repair, or maintenance operations in harsh environments.
