To meet this need, SCHURTER introduces the 4763 series. It is a combined Type F/J IEC outlet that integrates pre-assembled light pipes. Its function is to provide status indication directly at the power connection point. This design is especially suited for power distribution applications, where operational status visibility and available space optimization are key factors.
An IEC F/J solution ready for PCB mounting and integrated signaling
The 4763 series is a Type F/J IEC outlet for snap-in front panel mounting and direct PCB connection. It is designed for Class I applications and supports currents up to 16 A at 250 VAC according to IEC and up to 20 A at 250 VAC according to UL/CSA. The device operates within a temperature range of -25 °C to +70 °C and incorporates IP20 protection on the front side.
One of its differentiating elements is the integration of up to four light pipes, enabling clear visual indication of system status without the need to add additional external components on the front of the equipment. The series is available with different light pipe configurations or even without them, and offers versions compatible with V-Lock, P-Lock, and TwyLock cable retention systems in the Type J variants. The body is made of UL94 V-0 thermoplastic material and is offered in black, gray, and white finishes.
Designed for smart PDUs, UPS, and IT infrastructure equipment
The integration of light pipes directly into the power outlet provides particularly relevant advantages in smart power distribution applications. In PDUs and UPS systems, engineers can implement visual status indications associated with each power socket. As a result, monitoring and maintenance tasks become easier.
Furthermore, compliance with IEC/UL 62368-1 standards expands its application possibilities. This standard applies to audio, video, information technology, and communication equipment. Additionally, the product is also compatible with IEC 60335-1, intended for household appliances and similar equipment.
On the other hand, the combination of PCB mounting, compact design, and integrated visual indication offers additional advantages. Thanks to these features, it is possible to reduce the number of components needed on the front of the equipment. Consequently, more efficient, orderly, and easier-to-integrate designs are achieved.
